DFW Skaters

Michele Hardee is 33 years old and a stay at home mom with one daughter who is five years old.  She joined DFW Speed in September 2008.  Previously she was a speed skater on quads from 1987-1993.  After being away from skating for 15 years, she has returned to the sport she has always loved.  She prefers competing outdoors over indoors and has a new found desire to compete in the outdoor half marathons.  With one under her belt this year she will be competing in at least 3 more this season; all being in the month of August.

For Michele it’s not just the love of the sport and competition, but also the traveling and the friends she has all over the United States. 

Current accomplishments are:

April 2009 – Placed in all 6 (includes indoor and outdoor) of her events at the Tampa Classic meet in Tampa , Florida

April 2009 – Placed 3^rd overall in the half marathon at the Texas Road Rash in Round Rock, Texas

April 2009 – Attended the Banked Track Clinic at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs , Colorado

• Standard Skater in the Junior Men Division
• A current member of the USARS National Speedskating Team - he qualified to be on the National Team during the2008Outdoor Nationals, in Colorado Springs.
• 2008 USARS South Eastern Regional Champion in the Sophomore Men Division.
• 2007 USARS South Central Regional Champion in the Sophomore Men Division.
• A good all around skater and strong sprinter who excels in both long and short events.
